“To regain balance in a foot like this the medial side needs to be wider. Not only does that increase pulling risk, but hitting the other leg when moving is a big risk as well. That's the reason I glue such cases.

But how to move that shoe towards medial? Centring it under the bony column?

The easiest way is to apply polyurethane to that medial side. Because of that bead of polyurethane glue the applied GluShu will of course move towards medial as well, centring it perfectly under the leg.

Fit the shoe and glue like you always do.

Challenges in Achieving Hoof Balance

Some horses present unique challenges. For example, a hoof with a narrow medial (inner) side can cause imbalance. Widening this side is necessary but tricky because:

It increases the risk of the shoe pulling off
The horse might hit the opposite leg while moving
Traditional nailing methods may not allow precise shoe placement
