Owner Review: Glushu for Barrel Racer who could not be traditionally shod.

Some horses want to run, but their feet make the decision harder. Speed, balance, traction, and confidence all meet at the hoof. When traditional nailed-on shoes will not stay on, every run can feel like a compromise.

That was the situation horse owner Talia Reese faced with her rodeo horse. His hooves would not hold nails, even after repeated efforts to improve the amount and quality of foot available for shoeing. He was not performing like himself. He was not running hard. He was not winning.

Then Talia changed to Glushu. The result was immediate...

From Talia Reese:

“My rodeo horse’s hooves won’t hold nails. Despite many efforts and methods to grow more foot they just don’t work for him.

He was not like himself, not running hard and not winning.

We changed to Glushu and he won a barrel race the next night and has been on a winning streak ever since.

We really recommend Glushu if you find yourself in a similar situation to us”

Glushu offers an option for horses that cannot be traditionally shod with nails. Instead of relying on nails through the hoof wall, Glushu is designed as a glue-on shoeing solution.

That distinction matters for horses with weak, damaged, thin, or otherwise difficult hoof walls. It gives the farrier another way to provide support and protection without asking the hoof to hold nails.

Glushu may be worth discussing with a farrier when a horse:

  • Cannot reliably hold nailed-on shoes

  • Has limited hoof wall available for nailing

  • Loses shoes often despite careful farrier work

  • Needs hoof protection but does not tolerate traditional shoeing

  • Performs in a job where comfort, grip, and confidence matter

If you would like to try Glushu for your horse, please order from our online store or ask for it at your local farrier supply. If you have questions about Glushu, you can contact us at sue@glushu.com.
