Farrier Review: Glushu for when you cant nail weak hoof wall.

Thanks to expert farrier Lewis Mickleborough DIPwcf (LM Farriery) for sharing his experience of using Glushu glue on horse shoes on a horse who had a weak hoof wall that could not be nailed. We are delighted to hear that Glushu were the solution for this horse.

From Lewis

“Hi Everyone, this was a Glushu case from the other day. Av is a mature horse but still in lots of work.

Unfortunately through the summertime and the change in climate / temperatures / environment their feet tend to suffered quite badly. The hoof wall becomes very brittle and we struggle to go more than four weeks shoeing cycle.

The plan this time was to use GLUSHU Glue on shoes. As Glushu are non invasive we are not driving nails into weak hoof wall, but are still able to apply a shoe so that she can remain in work. We hope over time that the old nail holes will grow out leaving us with some stronger healthier hoof walls come the colder darker months.

I found the Glushu very easy to apply and highly recommend if you have a horse with weak hoof wall but still wish to keep it on work.

Thanks for reading.”
