Hoof problems can be a serious challenge for horses, especially when they stem from complex health issues like Lyme disease. When a horse suffers from metabolic complications, the feet often show the first signs of distress. Expert farrier Bart Lambert, used Glushu glue on horseshoes to support a horse struggling with severe hoof issues caused by Lyme disease.
From Bart Lambert
“Just a note to share my latest Glushu client. Severe hoof constipation is a metabolic issue in some horses, the feet are the victims of this.
Several causes are responsible here, in this case Lyme disease. Horse got this about 3 years ago and has had a serious relapse.
I use Glushu as it is a versatile shoe that can be utilised for many hoof conditions including helping this horse. Check out my Facebook page to see more of my farriery work.”
How Glushu Glue Supports Hoof Health
Bart Lambert chose Glushu as part of his treatment strategy because of its versatility and effectiveness. Glushu allows farriers to fit shoes securely without causing additional stress or damage to the hoof. This is especially important for horses with fragile or compromised hooves.
Glushu glue offers several benefits in these cases:
Strong adhesion that holds the shoe firmly in place
Flexibility to accommodate changes in the hoof as it heals
Reduced trauma compared to traditional nailing methods
Quick application that minimizes the time the horse spends standing on one leg
Using Glushu, Bart was able to fit a shoe that supported the horse’s hoof structure while allowing for natural movement and healing. This approach helped reduce pain and improved the horse’s mobility during recovery.
