“Remember this little problem child?
This is the weanling who HAD a broken coffin bone. He got his final set of x-rays this week and the all clear, good to go.
The x-ray picture below shows the before (top) and after (bottom) of how well this healed!
I used a GluShu glue on shoe applied with Equilox through the course of the treatment (fun trick, wrapping the foot in elastikon helps keep the glue from wearing too quickly).
I trimmed the foot and reapplied the shoe monthly to help ensure the foot stayed balanced while the shoe offered the added stability needed so the coffin bone could heal properly.
Huge thank you and shout out the Dr. Calva at Performance Equine Associates for her time, knowledge and skill so we could get this little one put back together good as new!”
