From Joel

“ Here we have Abby’s 4th GluShu package, about 20 weeks into the laminitis rehabilitation.

Thin soles, P3 rotation an upright 61 degree dorsal toe angle was her initial presentation.

Slowly working her palmar footprint caudal as the heels lower and decrease the high palmar. A decrease of 6 degrees in dorsal toe over 3 cycles reflects the current view.

Solear landmarks are cleaning up, the laminitis events distortions are starting to clean up, Solear Concavity is improving; more so in the near fore.

Re-establishing proportions on these distorted feet…… lots of progress addressing the lamellar wedges, new radiographs once winter lessens it’s grip, will be a guiding template to the progress made to date.

Set up in a 3X0 shoe with a rolled toe and chamfered heels; improving breakover and initial heel strike.

A full Solear passive pour using Glu U soft urethane finished this shoe package. She had previously been set up with a frog support pad to add 1/8” positive support to re-establish CE alignment.

No Solear bruising is visible any longer, laminitis is so debilitating, she’s moving well thru heel strike. Her turnarounds and crossovers are fitting to a horse rebuilding itself.

A work in progress…….. she’s happy as is her guardian.

Utilizing modern materials farriery to change a horses life…. The strength of application, variable shoe mechanics, concussive relief and options in Solear support with GLU SHU is a great option.

Thanks for reading :)
